Strategic partnership in functional neurosurgery: Swiss Medical Network and Insel Gruppe join forces
Swiss Medical Network and Insel Gruppe have entered a strategic partnership to advance incisionless functional neurosurgery (MRgFUS/HIFUS) in the canton of Bern. This collaboration offers patients with neurological conditions such as essential tremor, Parkinson’s disease, or neuropathic pain access to an innovative, non-invasive and highly precise treatment: MRI-guided focused ultrasound surgery (MRgFUS).
Treatments will be performed at the Ostermundigen Medical Center in close collaboration with the university clinics of neurology and neurosurgery at Inselspital. The goal is to offer a safe, effective, and gentle alternative to conventional surgery, without opening the skull.
This partnership marks a major milestone in the evolution of neurological care in Switzerland, combining academic excellence, cutting-edge technology, and a strong focus on patient care. It also opens new opportunities for research and medical education.
